UFC 189 Weigh-in Results: Mendes vs. McGregor Make Weight Then Pulled

The pay-per-view card also features the UFC’s welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler (25-10) in his first title defense against Canadian Rory MacDonald (18-2) in a rematch of a 2013 bout that Lawler won by split decision. Dillashaw, and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

UFC star Conor McGregor has spoken of his heartbreak over the death of Tyrone schoolboy Brendan McGlone.

Before Conor McGregor became one of Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) biggest stars, wrecking everything inside the Octagon – and getting rewarded for it, too – “Notorious” was trying to climb the ranks in the European regional circuit.

That wasn’t the last time McGregor was going to have be separated before a fight broke out, with UFC president Dana White forced to step in between the Irishman and his opponent Chad Mendes to prevent the two from coming to blows.

Then the kick happened, and Aldo, despite cleared of broken ribs by the UFC, pulled out of the fight.

“McGregor is now a six-figure loser in the book and we are finding it very hard to lay Chad Mendes as the cash continues to pile on McGregor with the 8/15 set to dry up sooner rather than later”.

McGregor has been insulting Mendes since he came into the UFC.

“Chad is an overblown midget”.

“It just makes life easier when I concentrate on myself and what I can control”, Lawler said. “He’s making us all more money, not just himself”.

McGregor starts to walk towards a nearby door, while Faber lightly holds him around the waist, laughing while asking, “hey, are you going to be alright?”, presumably in reference to the Irish fighters drawn-out appearance prior to the weigh-ins.

The champion disagreed: “I’m the man. I’m gonna go out there and show it. I’m gonna knock his ass out”.

McGregor says Sonnen misheard him (can’t blame it on cauliflower ear-the accomplished wrestler doesn’t wear one).

“For three months, I trained three times a day”, Aldo said. You know what I mean? He throws an overhand right, looks at the floor and hopes for the best.

“I’m here to shoot this man down, break that pay-per-view record and cash them big fat checks, and (forget) everybody that is doubting me”, McGregor said.
