A swarm of left jabs, uppercuts from a clinch and right straights led to Correia’s undoing. Rousey has promised to make tonight’s UFC 190 headliner against Bethe Correia last a little longer than normal, as she’s keen to dish out some additional punishment to an opponent who has rubbed her up the wrong way.
“I think everything up until the suicide comment could have been understandable from a marketing point of view”, Rousey said.
With an undoubtedly heavy heart, and eyeing down a title fight against Bethe Correia in less than 24 hours, Rousey shared a touching message via social media dedicating her fight to “Hot Rod”. Eventually, and with help from an ex-boyfriend, the fighter was able to overcome her secret struggles.
Rousey will be making the seventh defense of her championship, she last defended it against Cat Zingano at UFC 184.
Rousey is hardly the first female athlete to have her body compared to a man’s because of muscle tone.
“We were flying somebody in to come and fight and I was trying to get my debut [because] I was trying to build my record really fast”, Rousey said. “And I hope this is the last time”.
There is no doubt that Rousey (11-0), the most dominant woman in UFC history, is doing the “Rowdy” nickname proud. She said: ‘I have no pressure on me. Though she has defeated Alexis Davis via knockout in 16 seconds, Rousey isn’t really a puncher and I would rate her as an above average striker. She has said several times that Piper is one of her greatest idols.
Ross launched the fightofthenight.com site in 2009 as a way to channel his passion for the sport of mixed martial arts.
“Any reason that I could come up with, I would go”.
This badass 28-year-old recently was awarded the 2015 Best Fighter ESPY, earning yet another title to her impressive trophy shelf. Although Correia later backtracked and insisted her words were not meant to be taken as a direct reference to the death of Rousey’s father – I’d like to give Correia the benefit of the doubt and believe her in this case – Rousey doesn’t believe her and aims to embarrass Correia in front of her Brazilian people. Correia seeing similar success in the cage at 9-0.
Things already got testy Thursday, when Rousey and Correia engaged in an epic staredown complete with lots of trash talker – from Correia, at least.
The women Rousey has beaten have been the very cream of the crop and even then, only one was able to last more than one round.

Correia has only been fighting since 2012, whereas Rousey has a lifetime of combat experience in judo. During an interview with the local press, through new website The Guardian, Rousey said that she knows she will win this fight and this fight, by far, is the most personal fight she had inside the octagon, even more personal than her fight with arch nemesis Meisa Tate.
