UFC 192 open workout video highlights for ‘Cormier vs Gustafsson’ in Houston

Friday morning, UFC president Dana White took to Twitter to announce that due to weight-cutting issues with former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, the fight against Tyron Woodley would be off the event entirely. But he doesn’t think it’s just in one area. I’m stronger. I’m more agile. “I have to have that mindset (I am the better wrestler)”.

A knockout against Woodley would certainly be an impressive result for Hendricks, but obviously nothing is guaranteed in the race for the UFC title fight. I’ve got a good opponent in front of me and he’s made me better.

In the co-main event of UFC 192 at the Toyota Center in Houston, welterweight contenders Johny Hendricks and Tyron Woodley were set to clash in what seemed like a defactor No. 1 contender bout.

On the fight itself: “This is exactly the fight I wanted”. I’m coming out blazing, and I’m going to finish this fight.

Many UFC fans thought Hendricks should have received a rematch for the welterweight championship rather than the Rory McDonald at UFC 189. I’m going to get back to what I want: “the belt”, he said, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “I feel like you’ve got to earn it. He’s my toughest matchup, and that’s why I asked for him”. While it’s the first time these two have fought in the octagon, it’s not the first time they battled against each other in a highly competitive environment.
