UFC 196: 5 keys to victory for Holly Holm

But, the one thing that Rousey seemingly does not want to talk about is fighting, and perhaps more specifically, her eventual return to the Octagon.

Holly Holm is fighting Miesha Tate on Saturday, and her coach Mike Winkeljohn has a prediction for how it will finish. I think Holly is going to dominate the fight and do real well.

But if it’s up to Holm’s next opponent, Miesha Tate, it will be quite some time before Rousey gets that fight.

For what it’s worth Holm has Rousey in her corner, as the former champion wants Holm to win so that she can be the one to beat her. Holm is considered the massive favorite in her fight against Tate, although Tate is extremely confident that she will win and “ruin” the Rousey vs. Holm rematch that everyone is clamoring for. The 34-year-old fighter doesn’t care whether she is the first fight or the last fight, she is focused on beating Tate and retaining the belt.

The truth is, Holm lacks the magnetic personality that made Rousey a UFC poster girl and crossover movie star who can draw regular appearances on the late night talk show circuit.

Holm said Rousey should just suck it all up and face the fact that she lost, just like how she did it during the low points of her boxing career. She hits hard; she’s tapping people out.

Holm versus Tate is the pick of the litter, and it’s set to take a backseat to a non-title fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz at UFC 196 on Sunday – a promotional move the UFC has not pulled in over a decade. If you’re the champion, you’re the headliner.

She is as gritty as they come, but what makes her even more unsafe is the sizeable chip she’s carrying on her shoulder.
