UFC 196 Miesha Tate Defeated Holly Holm
Holm refused to tap. Round two was a different story, as Miesha Tate took down Holm and nearly choked out the champion.

Rousey’s rematch with Holly Holm will likely be pushed all the way back to UFC 200 in November, but White says that’s okay with him.
“There has been a lot going on in my life since I beat Ronda”, she said.
Flash forward: Those costly errors, Holm said, will not happen again.
“Oh yeah. You know, she’s number one for a reason”, Winkeljohn said.
But for Rousey, dropping Holm would silence critics and put her back on top of the UFC and the fight game from a mental standpoint as well. “But, if it’s Frankie or if it’s Dos Anjos or if it’s another 170 fight, I’m happy just to be there”.
Yet just as Rousey was not as invincible as everyone thought before Holm stole her crown, nor is Holm unbeatable.
Rousey already holds two submission wins over Tate, so what’s to make fans believe Rousey won’t do it again?
After Holm stayed on her feet and dominated rounds three and four, Tate finally got her chance once more in the fifth, pulling Holm to the ground and locking her forearms around her from behind.
Cromartie was at LAX when we asked him to pick the victor of the all important bantamweight showdown where the future of women’s UFC – and Ronda Rousey’s career – might be at stake.
“And not only do I want people to talk about my fights, but let’s talk about all the other fighters that are doing such great things in this division”. “She’s very risky. She’s capable of catching anyone at any moment”. In women’s fighting, she was untouchable – until she wasn’t. Tate looks a bit frustrated at the bell.
“It is hard because the more you get known and the more successful you get, the more people want a piece of you”, Roger Holm said.
Following a Tate takedown in the second round, Holm had done a superb job of staving off a choke attempt.
“It takes everything you have”, she said, “to be a complete martial artist”.
Holm brooded over her error. Following her first loss was a fallout of trolling, a non stop instant replay of her head rocking against the mat and for Ronda, a bout of depression. Did you want to see a rematch between Miesha and Ronda? I have so much respect for this woman.
After a cagey first round in which few significant blows were landed, the 34-year-old Holm was in trouble in the second round but managed to survive by keeping Tate at bay with her longer reach. I was upset because I couldn’t fight. “That’s what I’m in it for”, Holm said. “It doesn’t make sense to me”. “I need [Holm] to win”.
“I think stylistically it would be a very nice fight to watch and a very good challenge”.
Tate, 29, has now won five fights in a row.

At the MGM sportsbook, Holm closed as a 3.5-1 betting favorite.
