UFC 200 Preview: Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes
It’s worldwide fight week, and once again the UFC are pulling out all the stops with three events in three consecutive days.

“I’ve fought on really big cards before, groundbreaking cards like when Anderson Silva fought Chris Weidman, I was the co-main event on that card (UFC 168)”, said Tate. Here, we look at Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes. She’s at the lowest point of her career.
Nunes, sitting opposite of Tate at the podium, naturally denied she is susceptible to quitting when the fight gets tough.
“Her mental, that’s a big weakness, honestly”. So, if she can get by Pena on July 9th, “Alpha” will be knocking on the title shot door. All the articles are about me and Ronda and it’s quite misleading that I’m focused on her because I’m not.
Miesha Tate already wet her beak when it comes to the Hollywood life with her acting debut in “Fight Valley” alongside Holly Holm and Cris Cyborg. But when she’s not, when she’s put in that spot of adversity, she tends to break.
“Right now I’m trying to really stay focused on Amanda, and I know everyone’s so excited for that Rousey fight and I hope that’s something that happens, but if I don’t beat Amanda, you know…there’s no next”, Tate told Conan. “Everyone seems to think I’m going to win this fight which adds a lot more pressure”. For Tate to theorize the way she is seems odd when examining that particular performance. After falling behind on the scorecards over four rounds, Tate came out determined in the fifth and final frame. Justino and “Cupcake” have both expressed interest in squaring off, and this recent interview with Cyborg sheds more light on both potential fight with Rowdy’ and Tate.
It’s likely, be it via a giving up or through cardio, that the longer the fight goes on it’ll favour the champion.
That caused a “frustrated” Tate, who is one of the most success female fighters ever, to consider retirement from the sport.
It’s certainly something Tate thinks could be a factor, but it’s not something she’ll be relying on. “I’ve been getting much more confident on my feet and I don’t feel like I need to take this fight to the ground”. “They just brought me in to create a spark”. And to me the most important thing is to defend my belt.

UFC 200 takes place on Saturday, July 9 starting at 7pm PT, and the odds now have Tate as the favourite at +225 to -290 for Nunes.
