“It’s probably not a good idea for him to take his next fight in the UFC. He’s still a big superstar”, Gall said.

MMA insider Front Row Brian is reporting that Punk earned $500,000 for his performance at the show, making him the highest-paid fighter on the card besides main-eventers Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem. “And I’m going in there to win, and I don’t care how it happens”.

“You see it again tonight even if it’s against a guy who’s 2-0”. I just fell of a bike. Gall began to trash talk Punk a little before the two were separated by Dana White. “I think he should really focus in and train for a little bit, but (then) get a chance at retribution”. Nash also said he heard CM Punk is under a four fight deal with UFC, meaning he has three fights left on his contract.

In the main event of the night, local hero Stepe Miocic produced a brilliant performance to retain his UFC Heavyweight title after beating Alastair Overeem with a first-round knockout.

CM Punk was dominated throughout the bout and he could merely fight back.

On needing to prove himself: “This is what I want to do”. ‘I just like to take challenges.

Punk, pinned up against the fencing, was unable to wriggle free from under Gall and was caught by numerous blows to the head, including a powerful right to the temple.

“Yeah you know in life you go big or you go home”, Punk said. I’m proud of you, and I know you’re going to do great. “He got in and fought, so fair play to him, respect”.

In the post-fight press conference, CM Punk mentioned that he was initially eager to fight at the amateur level, but he changed his decision when the opportunity to fight in the UFC was presented to him. I’m just really, really hard on myself.
