UFC 203 results: Stipe Miocic wins thrilling brawl over Alistair Overeem
Croatian soldier climbed to the top on the UFC 198 event, where in the first round laid Fabricio Werdum. And what a fight it was.

Alistair Overeem raised thousands of eyebrows by claiming Stipe Miocic tapped out to a guillotine choke at UFC 203, and not surprisingly, the heavyweight champ’s outright denied that’s the case. Those who train with Miocic on a daily basis believe he will once again represent the city of Cleveland in a championship-like manner and send the hometown fans home happy. Not long after, Miocic started to land on Overeem, who tried to circle around but Miocic timed his shots perfectly and kept circling Overeem into the cage.
To be clear, this isn’t the first time that Jones has called for a fight with Miocic. Browne suffered a broken right index finger in a decision loss to Fabricio Werdum, while Tavares suffered a back injury and Spencer had an issue with his left hand. There’s a chance the title he worked all his career for could only be with him for one fight.
Boos echoed around the arena due to the inactivity of the fight, especially in the third and final round when Browne sat back for the majority of the round when he needed the finish as he was losing on the scorecards.
Jessica Andrade will fight in her second straweight match after defeating Jessica Penne in her debut in the division. While Faber appears to still have a bit in the tank, the younger generation of fighters are now neutralizing Faber’s former strength: his quickness. Perhaps the Dutchman looks better on the ground than Stipe Miocic.
Prediction: Eye by second round KO.
Didn’t see that one coming, did you?
Jimmie Rivera won the bantamweight bout with Urijah Faber by unanimous decision. Faber had his leg destroyed by Rivera, and was dealing with a possible broken hand during the fight. The former WWE superstar’s turn to mixed martial arts has been so hyped, you nearly forget the name of his opponent – a presumably game Mickey Gall, a guy that doesn’t even have his own Wikipedia page (Dude, get on that!).
CM Punk has moved over from wrestling (Getty)4.
He went for it all and came up short.

Bottom line, though we were repeatedly told this was not a publicity stunt by any means and instead, CM was taking his training very seriously and was focused on becoming a respected mixed martial artist, it proved to be nothing more than a successful marketing campaign.
