UFC Center? Promotion Vying for Las Vegas Arena Naming Rights

A report surfaced from Las Vegas Now that the UFC is in talks to buy the naming rights for the all-new arena being built in Las Vegas, which is owned by MGM global and AEG Live.

The $375 million facility, which is located near the New York-New York and Monte Carlo casinos along I-15, is slated for an April 2016 opening.

UFC are already believed to be holding the first ever event at the arena, with plans in the works to host the blockbuster UFC 200 event there in July of 2016. There is also a campaign to get Las Vegas an National Hockey League franchise to play at the arena.

According to the report, the Fertitta family is discussing whether or not the move makes financial sense for the company.

The new Las Vegas arena will likely become one of the most recognisable the city has to offer and should rival the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the top cards in both boxing and UFC before long. While a figure was not named, such arrangements are usually long-term, multimillion dollar deals. The UFC will hold their next event in Las Vegas for UFC 194: McGregor vs. Aldo on December. 12th.

UFC 200 is supposed to be the first sporting event once the stadium is constructed. A UFC Fan Expo is expected to coincide with the landmark card. UFC 193 will be held at Ethiad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
