Rousey who’s the UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion won the pool of the category “Best Fighter” category ahead of Mayweather and other boxers like Terence Crawford, Gennady Golovkin and fellow mixed martial artist Donald Cerrone.
While clinching the award, Rousey said she wondered how Mayweather felt being “beat by a woman for once”. It would be very easy for her to have a big head, (to say), ‘I can beat anybody in this world.’ I don’t know.
Earlier this year, when anticipation was building for Mayweather’s long-awaited bout with Manny Pacquaio, coverage of his history of violence against women was revived. He’s been charged six times and served a two-month stint in prison in 2012 for the 2010 beating of the mother of three of his children.
Rousey is up for two more ESPYs, “Best Female Athlete” and “Best Play”.

When asked in a 2014 interview about his thoughts on Rousey, Mayweather responded, “I don’t know who he is”. I want to build something that survives me.
Berto would be an underwhelming opponent for the 38-year-old Mayweather’s last fight before hanging up the gloves, with the former welterweight champion having lost to mediocre foes in Victor Ortiz, Robert Guerrero and Jesus Soto Karass during his career. “I just renegotiated. I have a lot of fights that I have in the UFC before I would be able to go do anything else”, Rousey told foxsports.com.
