During a Twitter chat with her followers, Alexander was asked what she thought about UFC fighter Ronda Rousey campaigning to play the lead role in Captain Marvel.

CAPTION: Since the reddit AMA I’ve received so many badass Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel edits!

As it turns out, Marvel’s first female superhero movie, Captain Marvel, is set for release in November 2018.

Check them out below.

Can someone just sound the bell on the casting for “Captain Marvel“? Oh, and in case you’re wondering (as I was), Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel are essentially the same character these days, but there have been different iconic outfits over the years. She had a smallish supporting role in 2014’s ill-fated Expendables 3, before playing herself (very convincingly) in this summer’s equally ignoble Entourage.

Ronda Rousey looks good as a superhero in this art by Hugo Dourado (left) and Alex Murillo (right). So I tell her, I’m here and I’ll fight for a rematch in 2016, stronger, more mature, we’ll see each other again. The Marvel’s Phase Three slate of film has almost casted all the roles except for “Carol Danvers“, also known as “Captain Marvel“.

Rousey said that she wants the role and, to be honest, we can’t think of a better fit. During one skirmish, Danvers was kidnapped and in the fight to get her back, she was knocked into some crazy space magnet thingy that turned her half Kree, giving her insane physical abilities no human should have. The masculinity evoked by UFC fights does little to suppress the charisma emanating from Rousey, who seems to embrace and celebrate her femininity while snapping arms and taking names. The movie is said to be based on her best-selling autobiography “My Fight/Your Fight”.

Correia feels slighted by those comments and how it was seemingly ignored by most outlets, making her go on social media to address the issue.
