UFC Fight Night 90: Dos Anjos vs
Without McGregor – who signalled his intention to add the 155-pound strap to his featherweight belt but is instead fighting Nate Diaz for a second time at 170 pounds – this division has lost a bit of its lustre, hence the decision to have a title fight on a card that is being screened on UFC Fight Pass. “I couldn’t have perfected this dance any more than what it’s gonna be”.

“It took me a couple of weeks to get my confidence back and the timing”, he said.
Fight Network will air the live UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: DOS ANJOS vs. ALVAREZ main card across Canada on July 7 at 10 p.m. ET, preceded by a live Pre-Show at 9 p.m. ET.
Lewis has been on a roll lately with three first round finishes in a row, with his size, strength, and power making up for his lack of technique.

MMA is a chess match.
What an unbelievable start to an incredible weekend of fights. Alvarez, a tough man from a tough part of the tough town of Philadelphia, likes to mix it up a bit more than dos Anjos, striking a little more often and absorbing close to a strike per minute more than the Brazilian champ. The Philadelphian quickly adjusted with what looked to be a solid takedown, but Dos Anjos easily eluded any danger and got to his feet.
There’s a trade-off though; Alvarez’ more aggressive approach has produced knockouts in 14 of his 27 wins, while dos Anjos has just 5 KOs amongst his 25 professional victories.
Alvarez is the kind of dude who can give you problems everywhere. I think I’m going to have a longer career’. By neutralizing Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Pettis in boring, split decision wins, he earned himself a title shot against Dos Anjos.
Are shrinking underdog odds still valuable? Dos Anjos, meanwhile, is finally getting recognition for his elite athleticism and, especially lately, has been taking on the reputation of an offensive juggernaut – one of coach Rafael Cordeiro’s patent killers.
“I’m just playing the cards that I’ve been dealt”. It brought an end to all the “last fighter to beat Conor McGregor” hysteria that accompanied him to the cage, showed him where he really needs to focus his attention in training and slowed his rapid ascent, which is also a good thing.
I’m in no rush to lay the chalk being asked to back Jones in the rematch… but with that said, I’m unable to conclude the value’s on Cormier.
