Andrei Arlovski meets fellow former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett this weekend in the UFC Fight Night 93 headliner from Hamburg, Germany. It has been a year since we last saw Gustafsson, and that was when he dropped a split decision over five rounds to Daniel Cormier. Barnett held the UFC heavyweight title long ago, but had a falling out with the promotion when he was stripped of the title due to a steroid test failure. In Blachowicz, he is getting a fighter who he is a huge favorite against, as this is one of the widest lines presented for several UFC shows.
There’s more light-heavyweight action with No.4 contender Ryan Bader set to take on current No.12 Ilir Latifi, while the main card will be opened up by Germany’s own Nick Hein going up against Tae Hyun Bang. On his return in September of previous year he won a unanimous decision over the very durable Roy Nelson. For Latifi, Bader is the fight that represents a step up in competition and a win would put him into the mix in the wieght class. A win over Latifi is a must if he wants to fight for the title in the future. Arlovski, on the other hand, has nine knockout losses on his record.
But in the end, Arlovski may be the hungrier of the two fighters.
Gustaffson and Bader are looking to get back into title contention after coming off of disappointing losses.
Below are the odds and the over/under lines as they appear at the sports books. Check out the main card odds from the UFN 93 card right here at EOG. The card features a good deal of the UFC’s European based roster, as is to be expected.
