UFC, McGregor enjoy record-setting night at MGM Grand
No one is laughing anymore.

FightMetric said McGregor landed five significant strikes to one for Aldo, whose lone hit was a left that connected as he toppled face-first to the canvas.
“I said his right hand would get him into trouble”, he said, “it’s the shot I predicted, I said he’d overload on his right hand, I said I’d slip and I’d bang the left hook and that’s what happened”.
Romero took it to Souza on the ground in the first round after dropping him with a spinning back fist.
After months of build-up, fans tuned in, hoping to see the greatest UFC title fight of all time.
According to Sports Illustrated, McGregor’s epic KO of Aldo is the fastest knockout in the history of title fights in the UFC.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez got wrecked against Fabricio Werdum coming off a long layoff and has been granted an immediate rematch at UFC 196. Aldo was previously the only champion the division had ever known. Many are already demanding a Jose Aldo rematch, but McGregor seems to ruling out the idea, since he is already talking about the “next chapter” of his MMA career.
This loss is nothing short of humiliating.
“You don’t want to see the only (featherweight) champion in the company’s history going out like this”, McGregor said. “I think people hear his mouth and the way he talks about people and they’re slow to give him the credit he deserves, but he shows it in the cage every time”. Such is the case with Rousey, who it was revealed will receive a shot at Holly Holm next year.
“Thank you guys from Brazil”, Aldo said.
However, it doesn’t get more emphatic than a 13 second knockout.
Rogan responded: “It was certainly a fight, it was just a fight that happened and ended very quickly”. So when I go to lightweight and take that lightweight belt, I will stay the featherweight champion also.
Max (Blessed) Holloway, ranked fifth among featherweight contenders, beat No. 8 Jeremy (Lil’ Heathen) Stephens by a unanimous (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) decision for his eighth straight win.
After the fight, which drew a U.S.-record gate revenue of $10.1 million at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, McGregor expressed sympathy, but insisted his victory was all but inevitable.
McGregor will move next to either a featherweight title defense against Frankie Edgar, or a move up in weight for the lightweight belt.
In the co-main event, Luke Rockhold handed Chris Weidman his first defeat with a fourth-round stoppage to claim the UFC middleweight title.

Aside from calling Aldo out over the mistranslated quote, Rogan was extremely respectful during the interview.
