Has MMA star Conor McGregor fought his last fight?
Conor McGregor sparked a social media frenzy after the Irish fighter posted a tweet saying he has “decided to retire young”.
McGregor took the MMA world by storm since making his UFC debut in 2013, earning five Performance of the Night honors during his incredible UFC winning streak.
McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh tweeted in response to his prized fighter’s announcement, adding to the rumour mill.
McGregor’s momentum was slowed at UFC 196 on March 5 when he suffered his first loss in five years at the hands of Diaz.
McGregor (27), has made no secret of his desire to have a brief but highly lucrative career in prize fighting. His trashtalking and powerful strikes have gained him a massive fan following, on the level of former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.
Diaz jokingly responded with his own retirement “threat”, tweeting: “I guess my work here is done I’m retiring too”.
That is unless McGregor really HAS retired.

It is worth noting that last week McGregor witnessed the fight that killed fellow fighter Joao Carvalho.
