The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) labelled a reported rift in the national team camp as just a “misunderstanding”.

In a chat with completesportsnigeria.com, Ugbade, who is a former team-mate of Oliseh in the Eagles, said: “Whenever there is rift between players, it will affect the team negatively”. I guess he was trying to impress his employers but that contributed to the poor performance of the players.

Musa played the captain’s role in the Super Eagles last two matches against Tanzania and Niger and while many thought it was only in a stand-in capacity, Oliseh revealed otherwise Tuesday, saying he was already looking into the future. Also in the team are Sylvester Igbonu, Rabiu Ibrahim, Ogenyi Onazi, Obiora Nwankwo, Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Iwobi.

“After 13years of national service, having this smiles on my face and this passion in my heart….through the billows, the waves of the ocean, the tears of defeat, the sound of rejoicing from victory chants. I will take anything but not insult to my dead mother”.

“A captain has to lead by example”.

Super Eagles goal keepers took to his Instagram page to confirm yesterday’s reports that he was thrown out of the Eagles camp by security.

“The decision to drop them is not because of visa but because other players have been called up as backup”.
