UI holds steady, Iowa State falls in US News rankings

“The latest U.S. News rankings confirm what so many of us associated with this great university have known for years: Clemson offers one of the very finest educational experiences in the country”, Clemson President James P. Clements said.

U.S. News is one of several organizations that compile college rankings, and each uses its own criteria. The others institutions included Colorado School of Mines, Michigan State University and Texas Christian University. U.S. News also highlighted the College’s 13:1 student to faculty ratio and increased first-year student retention rate.

As for other local universities, Loyola landed at 99th, IIT was ranked No. 103, DePaul was No. 124 and UIC came in at No. 152.

During that time period, Howard experienced declines in nearly all of the report’s key academic indicators from academic peer assessment and student selectivity to faculty resources and graduation and retention rates, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Taylor University has also appeared in college rankings complied by Forbes, Princeton Review, and Washington Monthly.

While students at private USC can rejoice, the publication notes in a statement that “California schools and military academies make a strong showing on the Top Public Schools lists”.

President Michael Fitts In addition to its overall ranking among the best universities in the nation, Tulane’s undergraduate program at the A. B. Freeman School of Business was ranked No. 48. That’s the same spot Northwestern ranked previous year. Columbia University and Stanford University tied for fifth place. It is also considered a best value in this category, ranking 38th. In 2015, U.S. News and World Report ranked 280 national universities. This category takes into account a college’s academic quality and net cost of attendance. More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university’s campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore.
