The British Foreign Office has eased its travel advisory on visits to Iran but urges caution.

British citizens are still being told to avoid border areas close to Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond on Saturday said that in certain areas of Iran, the risks had changed because of “decreasing hostility”, The Guardian reported.

“Travel advice for every country is reviewed on a regular basis and informed by the latest information”, he said.

Bilateral relations between Iran and the United Kingdom have improved since diplomatic relations were suspended in 2011 in response to Britain’s decision to impose sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran over the allegation that Tehran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear program.

The UK carries out individual travel advice assessments.

“The pm overview he stayed performed to re-opening the British group in Tehran and then they will decided that often…”

While relaxing its travel advice, the foreign office reiterated that people should carefully consider the risks of travelling to Iran.

Visitors are warned to respect Iran’s strict interpretation of Islamic law and all local traditions, including not drinking alcohol, dressing modestly and refraining from showing physical affection to unmarried partners or friends of the opposite sex.
