UK Exploring Post-Brexit Free Trade Options
Earlier this week, the prime minister distanced herself from Brexit secretary David Davis’s suggestion that it was “very improbable” that Britain could regain control over immigration from the EU while remaining part of the European single market.

Instead, he told MPs that his newly set up department already has over 180 staff in London, plus the expertise of over 120 officials in Brussels, “and we are still growing rapidly with first class support from other government departments”.
Davis said: “The people have spoken in the referendum and all of us, on both sides of the argument, must respect the result”.
Critics of the planned Hinkley Point project say its technology is untested, it is a bad financial deal for Britain and serious concerns remain about a Chinese state-owned company investing in key infrastructure that could give Beijing major political leverage in the event of a conflict.
He also said withdrawal from the European Union is not about “making the best of a bad job” as he pledged to secure a “national consensus”. “Perhaps the same reticence about standing up for Britain’s place in the European Union which led you to campaign so ineffectively for Remain also puts you off exposing the weaknesses and contradictions in the Government’s position – but continuing to fail to take Theresa May on over Brexit would be a dereliction of duty”. According to the final results, 51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people, made a decision to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.
They are expected to discuss Brexit, migration, trade and Ukraine over a working breakfast. Brexit isn’t about making the best of a bad job. It is a huge task for the world’s fifth biggest economy.
“We are seeking a unique to Britain rather than an off-the-shelf solution with Europe”, he said. A spokeswoman for May later told reporters that Britain would control immigration but that a points-based system “will not work and is not an option”. “It is about starting a new one”, Xinhua news agency quoted him as saying.
“I have no doubt that at the end of the day our common strategic goal is to establish the closest possible relations”.
In an unprecedented set of demands over the terms of Britain’s exit, Tokyo said Japanese firms could move to other parts of Europe unless numerous current privileges of membership were maintained.
India was on Wednesday included among priority countries by the United Kingdom for striking post-Brexit trade deals by Prime Minister Theresa May, who also stressed on developing an “ambitious and bold” model of non-membership association with the European Union.
