VOTERS ARE are heading to the polling stations across the United Kingdom on what has been dubbed “Super Thursday”.

More than 2,700 seats are up for grabs in 124 English local councils, while parliamentary by-elections will also be held in the Labour strongholds of Ogmore and Sheffield Brightside & Hillsborough.

There are elections to the Scottish Parliament, the National Assembly for Wales and the Northern Ireland Assembly, as well as local government elections in England and Police and Crime Commissioner elections in England (except Greater Manchester) and Wales, and the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections.

In Wales, people will be able to vote in Welsh Assembly and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

“Use your vote to secure a Welsh Conservative plan to freeze council tax, treble free childcare provision, create more jobs by backing small business, and improve infrastructure in your area”.

Polling analysts said Thursday’s elections represented the biggest test of political opinion since Britain’s general elections a year ago. There will also be results for the remaining 35 PCC elections in England.
