UK police arrest man in hacking of Pippa Middleton’s phone

Both Britain’s Sun and Daily Mail newspapers reported that an anonymous seller had been in contact offering the images for sale.

The seller sent sample photos that included Middleton’s wedding dress, photos of sister Kate with her children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, and naked images of her fiancé, James Matthews.

Hackers stole about 3,000 photos from Pippa Middleton’s iCloud account, CNN reported Saturday, citing British media.

Hedge fund boss Mr Matthews got down on bended knee during a trip to the Lake District after they had dated for less than a year.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating the hacking of a personal iCloud account have made an arrest”.

The seller demanded “a minimum of £50,000” (around $65,000 or P3.1 billion) within 48 hours, as of Friday afternoon United Kingdom time, they said. “This isnt (sic) an auction it will be a simple process of the highest bid in the next 48 hours (as of 4pm 23/09/16)”.

Duchess Kate’s younger sister, now looking for a different singer, “has been really hands-on” planning her wedding, continues the source.

It has been reported that the hacker has also approached USA media organisations, because of the strict privacy regulations in the United Kingdom preventing photos being published of the Cambridge children.

Earlier on Saturday, a Met Police spokesman said specialist officers were investigating the claim. William and Kate said the pair were a “wonderful couple”.

Miss Middleton is not the first person to be a victim of an iCloud hack.
