Newly appointed UK Prime Minister Theresa May wasted no time in getting down to business as she took over the reins from David Cameron on Wednesday (13 July) appointing David Davis Brexit Secretary and axing Chancellor George Osborne.

Before you become prime minister, the Queen has to ask you officially to form a government. “Other than one meeting this afternoon with her majesty the Queen, the diary for the rest of my day is remarkably light”, he said to laughter, as his wife and their children looked on from the public gallery, as per Reuters .
Cameron concluded: “It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve our country as Prime Minister over these last six years and to serve as leader of my party over 11 years”.
The cat has been at No. 10 Downing Street since 2011.
Mr Cameron said the Labour leader reminded him of the Black Knight from Monty Python’s Holy Grail saying: “Keep going it’s only a flesh wound”.
On Monday, following Mr Cameron’s announcement that Mrs May will take over as Prime Minister Premier Hon Alden McLaughlin issued a statement extending his congratulations.
Mr Corbyn, who has survived attempts to remove him from his position by his party paid tribute to the prime minister.
Unaware a microphone was still turned on, Cameron hummed “Doo, doo, doo, doo.” and uttered “Right…Good”, as he stepped inside 10 Downing Street for one of the last times.
Even the usually earnest Corbyn came with his own pre- prepared gags to the box-office weekly “Prime Minister’s Questions” session.
Although Larry is the first official cat to hold the title Chief Mouser, cats have occupied government buildings in London since the 1800s.
The Witney MP intends to continue as a backbencher but admitted he would miss the “roar of the crowd” and “the barbs from the opposition” that come with the top job in politics. “We love your show!”, Cameron said, attempting a U.S. accent. “He belongs to the house and staff love him very much, as do I”.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister David Cameron resigned, and was replaced at 10 Downing Street by Theresa May.
“The rumor is that I don’t love Larry. I do”.
Cameron also gave all but a guarantee to European Union citizens living in Britain that they would not be forced to leave the country when Britain leaves the bloc.

“And when I say willing you on I don’t just mean willing on the new Prime Minster at this despatch box or indeed just willing on the frontbench defending the manifesto that I helped to put together”.
