Lavrov and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier are scheduled to meet there for an energy-related event followed by talks that are expected to focus on issues including the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine.

Russian Federation recently bolstered its military forces in Crimea, which it annexed from Ukraine in 2014. Ukraine flatly denied this.
Insisting it would fulfill its side of the bargain, Russia’s Sergei Lavrov said Kyiv had to also honour its obligations.
“We assessed the prospects and possibilities of resuming dialogue in the Normandy format”, Lavrov said adding that the recent intrusion attempt in Crimea by Ukrainian saboteurs could not but have affected the talks.
But in more conciliatory comments, Lavrov said he did not think anyone was interested in cutting diplomatic ties between Russian Federation and Ukraine yet.
Lavrov promised Moscow will fulfil its part of the bargain and that Russian Federation is ready to provide the West with more evidence about armed Ukrainian incursions into Crimea.
Russian Federation has irrefutable evidence that Ukraine’s authorities had planned the attempted sabotage plot for a long time with the goal of destabilizing Crimea, according to Lavrov.

“We’re ready to present these additional facts.to our Western partners who are seriously interested in such things not being repeated”.
