Ultimate Highlights: Auburn at Arkansas (4 OTs in Fayetteville)

Allen passed for 233 yards and three touchdowns for the Razorbacks (3-4, 2-2 in the SEC), who won for only the second time in their last six games.

After trailing 14-7 at halftime, the Tigers drove 75 yards on 13 plays on the opening possession of the third quarter and pulled even on a nine-yard scoring sweep by wide receiver Jason Smith.

However, Louis dropped a pass in the end zone on second down, and White’s fourth-down attempt to Louis was broken up by Arkansas safety Josh Liddell. After a surprising road win in Knoxville and a disappointing road loss in Tuscaloosa, the home crowd finally had something to cheer about.

For now, know the Dec. 26 game in Shreveport is a late-afternoon start vs.an Atlantic Coast Conference team and the Dec. 30 contest in Birmingham is a late-morning kick vs.an American Athletic Conference representative.

Of course, it didn’t happen that way. Allen, now rolling right, had an easy flip to Walker for the two-point conversion. When the offense had to make third-down and fourth-down conversions, it did.

Keep in mind that a few rest would be good for No. 1 running back Alex Collins, who was limping late in the Auburn game; that Collins has carried 25 times or more in four of the last five contests, and that backup Rawleigh Williams is recovering from neck surgery. “It’s one of those moments where it wasn’t anything more than just what was going on right there”.

Gus Malzahn earned his reputation as a football coach while patrolling the fields of Arkansas high schools for 15 years.

“It’ll be a work in progress over the next couple of months”, Bielema said Monday.

Offensively, Bielema also cited junior running back Kody Walker, vital in the fourth and overtimes in his first game back from breaking his hand in the second game of the season loss to Toledo, junior tight ends Hunter Henry and Jeremy Sprinkle of Pulaski Academy and White Hall and junior receivers Drew Morgan of Greenwood and Dominique Reed, the Camden Fairview graduate and junior transfer from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College.

Arkansas, now with three victories, has to win three more in order to qualify for the postseason. With four more SEC games (at Ole Miss, at LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, plus a game against UT-Martin), finding that trio of wins is not guaranteed.

At this point, legends and nightmares are put on hold. Arkansas will have other chances to meet and exceed its dreams.

The line between legend and nightmare is often a thin one.
