There’s a chance that you’ve been collecting the Lord of the Rings DVD sets since the book series was adapted to film in 2001 by Peter Jackson. Well, it looks like that’s finally happening!

So up for pre-order today is the 30 disc “Middle-Earth” Ultimate Blu-ray Collection, which rounds up all three “Lord of the Rings” extended edition trilogy, “The Hobbit” extended edition trilogy with dozens of extra feature discs equaling hundreds of hours of extra features. In addition to the extended edition release of every film, the collection also includes all previously released bonus content from both the theatrical and extended editions. Also included is a 100-page replica of The Red Book of Westmarch, which was the book which both Frodo and Bilbo wrote their tales in, but this recreation will instead be filled with original film sketches and new artwork.
The movies each come inside a faux leather book, which are housed on a “Hobbit-style” wood shelf made of solid wood.
It would take you over 17 hours to watch the theatrical editions of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, An Unexpected Journey, The Desolation of Smaug, and The Battle of the Five Armies, and another nine days (number approximate) to make your way through the additional footage and bonus features. Additionally, digital copies of all films in their theatrical and extended edition forms will be included for download on Digital HD. Amazon.com has since removed pricing details from the product, but it was initially posted with an $800 price tag for an October 4th release.
