UM Returns to NCAA Tournament, Will Face Wake Forest at UNC

The Tigers are not the only team from the Southeastern Conference to earn a berth into this year’s NCAA Tournament field as five other programs will also step onto the field in the first round this weekend. The first national semifinal will be played and shown live on ESPNU at 5 p.m. Eastern Time Friday, December 4.

The victor of the first-round match between the Saints and Maroons will meet the victor of the Westminster College and Kenyon match on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Virginia Tech (14-3-2) received a No. 4 seed and will welcome Cincinnati (13-5-5) to Blacksburg on Saturday night.

Match times will be announced later tonight or Tuesday morning. The Penmen led that game 2-0 with 1:04 remaining in regulation. Armstrong State is 6-7-1 all-time in NCAA Championships play, advancing to the NCAA Final Four in 2011 and capturing the NCAA Southeast Region championship again in 2012. Washington State is 2-4-0 against teams in the 2015 field of 64. It will be the fourth time MI has traveled to Chapel Hill for NCAA Tournament play since 2010.

The College Cup will take take December 4-6 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
