Umar Akmal has denied any wrongdoing at a party, which led to his axing from the Pakistan Twenty20 worldwide team for the three-match series against England later this month.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced last week that Umar was not going to be considered for selection for the series after an incident in Hyderabad (in Pakistan) in which he is alleged to have “misbehaved” with women at a party.

Umar, brother of Kamran and Adnan Akmal who also played for Pakistan, Monday responded to the PCB show cause notice.

Saying that he only had food at the mujra, Akmal said in his reply, “I have done no wrong since I fully abide by PCB code of conduct and can’t even think of violating it”.

“I am not answerable to anyone apart from the department I am playing for”, Umar told reporters.

Karachi, Nov.16: Following the suspension of Umar Akmal from T20 squad against England due to controversial media reports against him, the Pakistan batsman has labelled these claims as baseless and hurtful. He also said that he had been lent support on the matter by none other than Shahid Afridi.

Rachel Khan, a model/actress from Lahore, came into limelight on Friday blaming Akmal for sexually harassing her during “Play For Peace” event in Oslo, Norway.
