JNU student Umar Khalid’s father claimed he received a threat call. The police is also said to be ascertaining whether Mr Khalid had received funds from anti-national elements through Kashmiri separatists. He is pursuing a PHD in History in the school of social science.

Since this is the case, NewsX would like to ask whether the Congress and other opposition parties are politically motivated in voicing support to these organisations, in particular the DSU of Umar Khalid.

Umar Khalid’s father had migrated to Delhi 30 years ago and have not returned since. He runs an Urdu magazine in the capital.

Some members of his family members have migrated to Hyderabad. He has been assigned room number 168 of Tapti Hostel. An FIR is yet to be registered, a police official said. His party DSU is considered to be close to CPI Maoists.

Investigators have also recovered Mr Khalid’s laptop and are scanning the emails and other content for more leads.

She stated he has been actively campaigning for the rights of the marginalised and alleged that anti-India slogans on the controversial occasion on the JNU have been raised by ABVP activists. Anti-India slogans were raised there. He is said to be close to Kanhaiya. This wasn’t even the first time the UPA made such a claim.

With all kinds of twists and turns coming up in the JNU story, what with the misreporting done by known media houses etc., the latest is that the Delhi police has been questioning Delhi-based journalist Sadiq Naqvi since 11 a.m.at the Vasant Vihar police station on February 20th. The police had said that campus peace could be broken. In the past, they have been accused of trying to create a furore by sticking naked pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses. They mourned Afzal Guru and in 2010, they had celebrated the killing of 76 CRPF jawans.
