Umpire Bob Davidson ejects fan from Phillies game
“I’m not a big momentum believer, I’m a day-to-day guy”, Bumgarner said. “It just kind of got sore a little bit”. Like Bob Davidson, they heard it last night not for the first time. After singles in his first two at-bats, Howard hit his 15th home run of the season with one out in the seventh to get the Phillies on the scoreboard.

“It was good to see all the fireworks tonight off the bats”, Phillies manager Pete Mackanin said.
The Giants bullpen has blown an NL-high 19 save opportunities, but Cueto gave back a four-run lead all by himself.
It was not the way the Giants envisioned starting a nine-game road trip down the Eastern Seaboard after battening down their roster prior to Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline. But Odubel Herrera electrified the ballpark when he beat out a bunt single and Hernandez, batting from his stronger right side, followed with a line drive double hit too hard for Pence to track down near the right field wall. Smith was lifted for Sergio Romo, who surrendered the go-ahead single up the middle to Aaron Altherr.
Bullpen report: Will Smith’s second appearance went much better than the first one. Philly logged ten hits and walked four times with Ryan Howard and Cameron Rupp smacking solo bombs while Maikel Franco went 2-6 and knocked in three runs.
Hector Neris (4-3) pitched a scoreless eighth to earn the victory.
The Phillies jumped all Giants ace Madison Bumgarner, taking a 6-0 lead through two innings. While Franco ran to first and touched the bag, Altherr, who said he “kind of got caught up in the moment” never ran to second.
The Giants battled back against Zach Eflin, getting a run in the fourth on Crawford’s 10th homer of the season before a five-run fifth tied the game at six. Altherr then appeared to have legged out an infield single, but he was ruled out on a replay review, leaving runners at second and third with two outs.
Altherr said he would buy Franco dinner if the mistake cost his teammate a hit, but after a long delay following the game, the official scorer credited Franco with a single. He allowed one run and six hits in six innings.
Of Altherr’s 39 career hits, 22 of them have gone for extra bases. Phils starter Phil Klein gave up all four runs on eight hits through five innings with six relievers putting up zeros.
Home plate umpire Bob Davidson didn’t like the language of a fan seated about 14 rows behind the visiting dugout of Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night, according to a Phillies spokesperson.
“Beyond that, heckling more often than not ruins the stadium experience for other fans – no one wants to listen to someone constantly yelling insults and obscenities when they’re just trying to enjoy a game on a Saturday afternoon”.

Not a good look for that fan, although the behavior still doesn’t put him in the same wing of the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Shame that includes the Phillies fan who intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl.
