Under pressure Arsene Wenger angrily hits out over goalkeeper selection ahead

Back on top of the Premier League for the first time since the start of the 2013-14 season, Manchester United will attempt to get their Champions League campaign off the ground when they host Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Before the last global break in September, Manchester United suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. “I never critiqued that, I accept your judgement of how the team played and your assessment, but I don’t have to give you all the information I have to make my decisions”, the Arsenal manager said.

‘It was something I needed to add to my game rather than having a good performance, and then only an okay one.

When pressed to respond to the comments of Chelsea boss Mourinho that there was only one manager in the Premier League not under pressure, Wenger curtly replied: “Look, stop that story or we stop the press conference”.

Van Gaal has expressed his ambition to win both the Premier League and Champions League with United.

Speaking ahead of the match against Arsenal, LVG said everyone at the club has the belief they can continue to succeed, and that the belief will grow when, not if, they win at the Emirates.

“I don’t agree with that, it makes me angry because I think it is unfair to the player“. “The shareholders don’t question him as he has qualified every year for the lucrative Champions League“.

Last year, irate supporters launched a “Wenger Out” campaign on Twitter and there was uproar yet again in September when the transfer window closed with Arsenal the only team in Europe’s top five leagues who were unable to land a single senior outfield player.

Man Utd manager Louis Van Gaal is well-known for being a bit outspoken in the media, and he has given his verdict on Arsenal’s lack of trophies over the past ten years.

‘I thought they would maintain their word.

Manchester United understood and snapped up the forward plus addons, although Wenger considered Monaco would keep hold of Martial this summer, and that’s the reason why he was not pursued by Arsenal in the summertime transfer window.

Eyebrows were raised when United forked out a record fee of £36million for a teenager but Martial has silenced the doubters with four goals in his first six matches. Wenger said. “You will slaughter me”.

There’s no suggestion Wenger will walk or be relieved of his duties-the board have stuck with him through thick and thin.
