Pakistan will “forcefully” present its stance on India’s “state terrorism” in Jammu and Kashmir at the upcoming UN General Assembly in NY, the Foreign Office said on Thursday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks about Balochistan and Pakistani Kashmir in his Independence-Day speech “have not helped matters on the bilateral front”, a Pakistan daily has said, terming the current state of relations between the two neighbours as “toxic”. “If you expect us to feel strongly about people inside the country then my humanity does not stop at my borders”, official sources said, reflecting Government’s view on the issue.
“There is no comparison between the struggle for liberation in India-held Kashmir and the so-called Balochistan insurgency”, Zehri asserted at a rally in Quetta, the provincial capital.
“Pakistan not allowing United Nations human rights team to visit PoK is I think a message in itself”, he added. In the past 40 days, more than 80 innocent young Kashmiris have been killed, 6000 wounded and 120 blinded as a result of brutal action by the Indian Security forces to suppress peaceful protests.
Meanwhile, a senior RSS functionary on Wednesday said, India is “morally right” to rake up the Balochistan and Gilgit issue and claimed that Pakistan treats its own people like “third grade citizens” and uses bombs to crush muhajirs and provincial Independence movements.
In thanking an Indian Prime Minister, “they have thanked the whole population of my country”, he said. We will decide on our role at an appropriate time. “He (Modi) crossed the red line by talking about Balochistan”, adding that Pakistan will “forcefully” raise the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly session next month.
“We have also stressed to UNHCHR the efforts and undivided attention of all organs of the Indian state for restoring normalcy in J-K in the face of incitement and support to terrorism from across our border”.
Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal tweeted: “Digvijay Singh ji calls J&K as “India occupied Kashmir”.
Zakaria said Pakistan had invited finance ministers of SAARC countries for the next week meeting but so far was waiting for confirmation on Arun Jaitley’s participation.
