UNICEF charity match: David Beckham joined by Sir Alex Ferguson, Zinedine

Manchester United legend David Beckham will lead Great Britain and Ireland XI when they take on the Rest of the World XI during the Unicef charity match at Old Trafford on Saturday, 14 November.

In his other two posts so far as part of the “Becks is back” takeover, Beckham has praised Brazilian World Cup winning full-back Cafu’s longevity and consistency as “incredible”, while calling Nicky Butt one of United’s leaders.

34-year-old Park used to be the captain of the South Korean national team until he stopped playing football.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid is now on trip to all seven continents in aid of UNICEF.

According to reports, all proceeds of the charity match will be given to UNICEF’s work for the world’s most vulnerable children. Aside from that, the one-off game on Saturday aspires to raise awareness on issues involving children.

Great Britain and Ireland All-Stars will play against the Rest of the World team in the exhibition match.

Not only will Sir Alex Ferguson return to the Old Trafford dugout to coach the team, but besides Beckham, stars on the pitch will include Zinedine Zidane, Ronalinho, Cafu, Cristiano Ronaldo, Patrick Viera, Sol Campbell, Wayne Rooney, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. The team will be captained by Zinedine Zidane and will be managed by Carlo Ancelotti.

The Rest of World XI, captained by Zinedine Zidane, is made up of former team-mates Edwin van der Sar, Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Nesta, Luis Figo, Ronaldinho, Massimo Ambrosini, Dwight Yorke, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Landon Donovan. There is no live coverage of the match in the UK.
