Unicode Considers New Emoji Including Bacon, Pregnant Woman and Selfie Arm
There are few other prospective emoji characters that are under assessment and can be approved in future, the Consortium added.

The group that designs and approves emoji is now looking at 38 new animations that could be included in its next release. The Consortium also said that names, images, and code points may also change.
Check out the gallery above to see what emojis you might be using next year… Among the many different candidates on the listing are bacon, a pregnant lady, a cowboy, a clown and an individual taking a selfie.
Once given the nod by the emoji police, Apple, Google and Microsoft will be able to give their own twist to the new emojis before pushing them live to users.
It is possible that a majority of the shortlist Emojis won’t make it through the final rounds of selection, thus saddening millions of Emoji lovers who would have wanted a comprehensive addition this time.
Set to be part of the Unicode 9 update, the revamped emoji line-up is expected to rollout next summer, so the wait for the scooter and handshake emoji continues – sad face.

Unicode has now posted the list of current candidates to its website, with mock-ups then being created by website Emojipedia.
