Their pickup truck was found with a shattered window on August 9 in a commuter lot off the Merritt Parkway in Westport. State police detectives initiated a search of the area, and are still on scene conducting a thorough search.

State court records show Jeffrey Navin was $2.2 million in debt as of December in connection with a mortgage on a Guilford home that has been in foreclosure since 2007. Family members say financial troubles are not behind the Navins’ disappearance.
Police have searched a Portland landfill as well as the area surrounding the Navin’s Easton home using cadaver dogs.
Connecticut State Police have confirmed that they’re searching a vacant home in Weston in connection with a married couple who have been missing since the summer.
Monday, August 24: Kyle Navin, who hadn’t been seen since the police search of his home, is located at a friend’s home in Westport.
Tuesday, September 8: The FBI arrests Kyle Navin on a seldom-used federal gun charge, possession of a firearm by a drug-addicted person. He is held at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Rhode Island.
A law enforcement source said that Kyle Navin, the son of the missing couple, knew the Kerrigan family. He then asked his son if he hurt his mother. He is now behind bars on federal gun charges and is scheduled to face a judge on Friday.
The Weston Fourm quoted Troxell as saying the search began around 3 p.m. Thursday at an abandoned house at 89 Norfield Road not far from Weston Town Hall and police headquarters. The search goes on through the night.

The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) where they will determine whether the remains are human or animal, and cause and manner of death if applicable.
