Union boss barred from Labour leadership election vows to challenge ruling

The union leader said, as it stood, he was barred from voting in the leadership election or attending future meetings including next month’s party conference.

The shadow chancellor’s strongly worded statement, issued by Corbyn’s campaign, came after the party suspended a senior Corbyn-supporting trade unionist, Ronnie Draper.

Mr Corbyn will also say a Labour government under his leadership would introduce a cross-departmental Cabinet committee to increase participation in the arts and culture.
