Union calls for resignation of mayor amid strip poker claim
He was elected mayor of Stockton, a city of about 300,000 people east of San Francisco, in November 2012.

After all, he had served as the chief executive of the Boys and Girls Club of Stockton, president of the Stockton Unified Board of Education, and aquatic program director for the San Joaquin County Human Service Agency, where he “help [ed] kids in economically disadvantaged parts of Stockton get access to swimming lessons and pools”, according to his website.
Sawyer, who said he had not yet read the affidavit, said he found it odd that federal and local authorities would bring these felony and misdemeanor charges so close to a pending election-Silva’s arraignment would come just one month before the election.
Mayor Anthony Silva, 42, was charged in Amador County with eavesdropping, contributing to the delinquency or a minor, providing alcohol to a minor and cruelty to a child by endangering health, his lawyer Mark Reichel told The Associated Press. Silva later claimed she was a disgruntled former employee, and charges were never filed. These were contributing to the delinquency of a minor, furnishing alcoholic beverages to individuals under the legal drinking age of 21, and child endangerment.
An FBI search of Silva’s cellphone reportedly included 23 photographs and four video clips taken in August of 2015 at around the time of Silva’s camp. News that there was an investigation going on surfaced about 10 months ago.
Last year, Homeland Security agents detained the mayor at San Francisco global airport, and confiscated his laptop upon his return from his China trip.
“They’re not gonna find any espionage or anything like that on my computers or my cell phone, but by me giving into that sort of search, when I knew the search was illegal – and it’ll be proven that they have to give the stuff back anyways – I wasn’t protecting the rest of the American people”. The limousine driver and passengers sued Silva, including a woman who alleged the mayor had made inappropriate advances. He said that the timing occurred close to the start of the next election, and Silva, he stated, would not have enough time before the election to clear his name.
The almost two dozen photographs from the camp found on his phone included some photographs of people under 21 in possession of alcohol or near alcohol, said Amador County District Attorney Todd Riebe.
Amador County Dist. Atty. He said that the clip involved a conversation with the mayor and the teens he coerced into playing strip poker in his cabin.
In July 2013, while speaking at a city council meeting, Silva told City Manger Bob Deis that he could play for him a private discussion the two had.
The Stockton police union is among those calling for his resignation.
On Thursday, Silva was charged with a felony of secretly recording confidential communications without consent.
Silva says he will not resign.
She also said beer and vodka were present at the camp. In a statement, the SPOA said, “Be it from community policing to the use of officer worn body cameras, Michael Tubbs has shown during his time on council the ability to work cooperatively with local law enforcement”.
The affidavit does not identify the two women and three males prosecutors say were playing strip poker in the mayor’s bedroom in August 2015.

Silva has held a media conference to insist he was innocent after he was released on $20 000 bail. If convicted of all charges, he could face up to three years in prison.
