United Airlines stops girls wearing leggings from boarding a plane

United Airlines is under sharp criticism and this time it is for banning of 2 passengers who were allegedly not “properly clothed”. Shannon goes ahead and states that she is a mother of four and is comfortable traveling in yoga trousers and then questions how many boys they have penalised for the same reason.

The airline seemed to hit a cog in the wheel when they could not explain why it was inappropriate for a 10-year-old to dress in leggings. “Their business is being children”, tweeted actress Patricia Arquette.

And United Airlines’ initial response.

On Sunday evening, a United spokesman clarified what had transpired at the gate.

Watts said the girl’s mother told her the two teenagers had just been turned away because the gate agent said their trousers were not appropriate travel attire. In its contract, however, the airline does not define “proper clothing“. “She’s forcing them to change or put dresses on over leggings or they can’t board”, Watts wrote on Twitter. But the concept that adolescent girls wearing leggings is improper sparked outrage on social media. “[United] humiliated everyone. They’re sexualizing young girls”, witness Shannon Watts told The Post after tweeting about the incident before hopping her own separate flight. They departed on the flight to Denver.

In a series of dozens of tweets, the company said the incident was not simply the result of an overzealous gate agent. For travelers who are not relatives of United employees, he said, “If you are a customer and want to wear your yoga trousers, welcome aboard”.

According to the policy, “pass riders” aren’t allowed to wear clothing that doesn’t look “neat and professional”.

Guerin continued to specify that an internal policy governing employee travel forbids the wearing of leggings while traveling while confirming that paying passengers would not be denied boarding for wearing leggings or yoga trousers. “As pass riders represent UA when they fly, they have a specific dress code”.

The tweets immediately gained traction on social media as people across the world began admonishing the airline for its idiotic policies, which humorously, many began to state are being enforced randomly. “That’s all! Cool, right?”
