After signing a number of high-profile players – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan – it is widely understood that Jose Mourinho’s spending is done for this transfer window.

Should the former Champions League victor not be able to feature regularly at United, a move away in January may be on the cards.

The 20-year-old has struggled to cement his place in United’s first team and made just 13 competitive appearances across two seasons under Louis van Gaal.

Another player in a similar position is Adnan Januzaj, who recently joined Sunderland on a season-long loan deal.

“It’s more than enough and if you have a problem or an opportunity then I have a few young players in the academy that I will be more than happy to give them an acceleration in their process”.

Pereira played 11 times for United last season, scoring once.
