It said: “The Right Honourable David Cameron MP had an audience of the Queen this evening and tendered his resignation as Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury, which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to accept”.
Later, she tapped Johnson as foreign secretary and Fox as secretary of state for worldwide trade.
Not to mention a Conservative Party whose infighting over Europe prompted Cameron to call a referendum in the first place – much to his spectacular downfall.
Davis campaigned to leave the EU, and it will be his job to defend Britain’s economy in new trade agreements with European countries.

He then returned to Downing Street, where he left two bottles of red wine for Mrs May in her new office, before his final departure.

Mrs May has already made telephone calls to key global partners, including President Hollande, and the Elysée says the French president told her he hopes negotiations for the UKs EU exit will now begin as fast as possible.
