Dialogue is the best option to amicably resolve all issues whether minor or vast between India and Pakistan, including the dispute of Kashmir.
Mr Karzai demonstrated his acute grasp of our regional reality, as he spoke of ending extremism – the very cause of human rights abuses that follow – and checking the rise of the ISIS in our midst, ensuring peace and harmony for development, and finding ways for the return of normality in Kashmir in the context of a proxy war. The situation in Kashmir had never been so severe.
On the question of cross-border terrorism in India and support to Kashmiri separatists, Karzai came up with an advice to the Kashmiri leaders. However, we believe that mere response to the letter is not sufficient and the United Nations has an obligation to stop shedding of blood of innocent people in Occupied Kashmir, which is nothing but state terrorism. The senior Congress leader further said that though Prime Minister Modi visited Kashmir during flood and many packages were offered, nothing has worked out. “Will these kinds of measures break their beliefs” The serious matter is to clear their doubts and anxieties.
Later in the evening, the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan is looking forward to Afghan president Ashraf Ghani’s participation in SAARC summit to be held in Islamabad in November this year.
However, giving a word of caution, he added: “I don’t think India intends to go to any proxy wars in the region as it has a tradition of peaceful coexistence”.

In a media statement, Lodhi said that the Kashmir issue has been highlighted on global level. Kashmir valley has been witnessing unrest after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani on July 8. He also pointed out the suffering of Balochs at the hands of extremists, backed by the Pakistani government, adding that “the people’s concerns need to be addressed and aired”.
