United States ‘B’ team trying to kill basketball opponents with kindness

While other athletes learn to live with the surprises that the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Village has thrown up, the United States’ basketball team will stay in luxury on a top of the range cruise liner.

“Honestly, him knowing me as a 17-year-old kid and now seven years later me being the starting point guard of this team, time is changing but I love to see the growth of not only him but myself”. In the hallway, more construction supplies. “When you get to the medal rounds it’s one and done, but we have a lot of experience in those games and look to continue our recent success”.

Chef de Mission of Jamaica’s team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Vishu Tolan says the mood of the athletes in the camp has improved after their arrival in the Olympic Village was met with a number of issues with their accommodation. Now that the games are here, however, we can only hope we can move our attention to the athletic competitions.

The U.S. women’s team are one of the great Olympic dynasties, going for a sixth consecutive gold medal and riding a 41-0 unbeaten run that stretches back to the 1992 Games in Barcelona.

“They played their tails off against us and made us better”, offered Durant in the sincerest tone he could muster. They’re on a ship again, along with the USA women’s team, in part because of a shortage of hotel space compared to recent hosts Beijing and London, and Anthony doesn’t see why it’s such a big deal. “It goes up, and we have to react accordingly”.

Besides China, the other teams in the same group with Team USA are Australia, France, Serbia and Venezuela.

They gathered on July 23 and coach Geno Auriemma said Tuesday was the first real practice they’ve had. He plans another Wednesday after they arrive in Rio.

“So we’re not as good as we’re going to be, and that’s kind of the way it’s been for us at the Olympics”, Auriemma said.

Opponents have to worry about Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Paul George and practically every other National Basketball Association player on court, so that usually leaves Carmelo Anthony open for shots that he can hit all day. But there was still plenty of learning to do on and off the court during the tour, with more still come when the games start to count.

Given their domination it would be easy to think that Auriemma has the easiest job at the Rio Games, though he said there was nothing easy about it.
