Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has moved ahead of his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton in the three major USA states of Ohio, North Carolina and Nevada, a Fox News poll reported.

But in a sign of how split the polls are going into the November 8 election, a separate poll by NBC News/Wall Street Journal put Clinton ahead of Trump by six points, at 43 per cent to Trump’s 37 per cent.
There were troubling signs for both candidates in the poll.
Specifically, 33 percent of likely voters reported dismay over Trump’s temperament; 27 percent said his comments about women, immigrants and Muslims worry them the most; and 13 percent were most disturbed by his compliments for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Clinton and Trump, on Wednesday, also accused each other of misappropriation of funds meant for charity and “fraud” after reports said the two have overlapping interest in their charities. In a head-to-head matchup, Clinton’s lead expands to 7 points over Trump, 48-41. And 29 percent are anxious about her use of a private server during her time as secretary of state.
Almost seven in 10 voters, 69 percent, said Trump’s controversial rhetoric concerns them, a NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll said Wednesday.
Stein was not on the ballot in either of those two states.

The Commission on Presidential Debates, a bipartisan organization that manages the events, will host the first of three general election presidential debates at Hofstra University in NY on Monday, September 26. Wisconsin, which holds 10 electoral votes, has not gone Republican since 1984.
