United States its own worst enemy on gun issue

This year, it’s ticked slightly back toward controlling gun ownership, but Americans are split nearly evenly on the question. “How can that be?” This simple truth causes many voters to develop a feeling of powerlessness on the issue of gun laws.

Other estimates put the number of Americans killed by terrorism in the past decade at just 24, which doesn’t include the 9/11 attacks like the first estimate. Instead of playing off gun violence by saying, as Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said, “stuff happens”, and by sidestepping the issue, we need to consider how many more slaughters it will take for policymakers to realize that it is time for comprehensive, sensible, and necessary gun laws to be passed and enforced if we as a society truly care about those who have been victimized by gun violence.

By comparison, there have been 6,764 US troops killed during the conflicts of Iraq and Afghanistan since the 2001 launch of campaigns in the Middle East region, according to the Georgia-based tracker iCasualties.org.

The unsettling recurrence of mass shootings in the Unites States was highlighted in a statement made by President Obama following last Thursday’s shooting. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says Mr. Obama should shut down the whole federal government until Congress restricts gun rights. For them, ensuring the end of gun violence is part of their mourning process.

You’ll need the police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the ATF or the National Guard-all known for their nuanced approach to potentially risky situations-to go door-to-door, through 3.8 million square miles of this country and take guns, by force, from thousands, if not, millions of well-armed individuals.

“They’ve got so many laws now that they are not even looking at, and more constraints on guns is not the answer”, she added.

“One thing you see that is common unfortunately in nearly every one of these incidents is someone who has fallen through the cracks when it comes to mental health services”, said Gov. Walker.

The mass shooter who killed nine before taking his own life at an Oregon community college grew up in Southern California before moving to the Beaver State with his mother a few years ago.

“I think we should pray for the families and let the investigation take its course”, Ryan said.

Obama has renewed his call for stricter gun laws following the shooting and has expressed exasperation at the frequency of mass shootings in the U.S. They’ve been at this a long time, they’ve perfected what they do. Mass shootings are a routine aspect of the contemporary United States; the specific community grieves, there are broad yet unfollowed calls for change, and then the nation shifts its focus to something else.

A large portion of the American population criticizes the implementation of gun control laws because of its recreational use.

But wait, don’t we already have comprehensive mandatory background checks? “And they have. We have found out in the past that our firearms [were used] in different crimes”.

After the eradication of the guns, maybe the censorship of violent video games would be more tolerable.

Polls indicate that most Americans favor universal background checks for purchasing guns, but in 2013 Republicans in the Senate stopped a bipartisan bill to extend background checks to gun shows and Internet sales.

And the perpetrators – named or unnamed, does it really make any difference? – by now seem to have come from Central Casting for killers.
