A 20-year-old college student ready to begin his second year playing baseball and studying kinesiology at San Joaquin Delta College was tragically shot on Sunday near San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf while playing “Pokemon Go”. He graduated from Serra High School in San Mateo and played for the San Joaquin Delta College baseball team.

Riley was playing Pokémon Go on his phone when he was shot, a family member said on Facebook and on a GoFundMe account set up for Riley’s funeral expenses.

“It was just so random”, he said through tears.

Authorities responded to a call just before 10 PM on Saturday night when they found Riley; first aid was given to the man, but he died, police said. “But he’s a 20-year-old college athlete”. We’re in a bad society right now.

“There was a large group of people playing Pokemon”, Kirby said. I mean it’s just unbelievable.

There are no clues about a shocking murder in a popular area of San Francisco that occurred over the weekend.

“Certainly, it’s a popular thing to do down there in the park”, Cullivan said.

Investigators did not say whether the game may have been a factor in Saturday’s killing. No suspect is in custody. They are seeking tips.

Riley lived in Lowell until he was 15 before he moved to California.

Working at a youth summer camp, Riley was so good with kids that Klein invited him to be a coach for the program, a job that was going to start on Monday. “His personality was bigger than life”, Ayoob said.
