The Pakistani establishment, which is often accused of harbouring outfits to do its bidding against India, especially in Kashmir, has called Wani a martyr.
“The sides reiterated their condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed their commitment to dismantle safe havens for terrorist and criminal networks such as Da’ish/ISIL, al Qaeda, LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammad, D-Company and its affiliates and the Haqqani Network”. I have had many engagements with (Pakistani prime minister) Nawaz Sharif. “We will also intensify intelligence sharing and continue to work closely to get terrorist entities listed by the United Nations system, by coordinating our approach to the United Nations 1267 Committee”.
“Let me be clear”.
“We will not and we can not make distinctions between good and bad terrorists”.
“We have been urging Pakistan to crack down on terror camps”.
Kerry said Pakistan has fastened the process in the recent months.
In a joint press briefing, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that during the 2nd Indo-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue, being held in New Delhi, the elite Indian delegation held extensive discussions with the US delegation aimed at strengthening defence, security and economic relations. “Terror and talks can not go hand-in- hand”.
“They must work with us to help clear sanctuary of bad actors who are affecting not only India-Pakistan relationship but also our ability to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan”.
Swaraj also extended her thanks to Kerry for America’s support to India’s bid to join the elite Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), a group of 48 countries.
USA today assured India of “doing more” by providing it finances for innovative renewable energy projects while asserting that it is the “only way” of meeting the challenge of climate change.
The counterterror cooperation will include an expansion of the exchange of screening information and expediting the processing of requests from both nations for information about potential suspects, the ministers said.

He also said Islamabad should not feel isolated by the upcoming talks between the U.S., India and Afghanistan in NY. He said the US and India are witnessing a defining moment in their relationship. Membership to the cartel will allow India to trade in nuclear material and technology. One expert stressed the importance of strong India-U.S. ties. “Secretary Kerry also shared United States perspective on developments in the region and beyond with the Prime Minister”, the statement said.
