UNLV Loses to Michigan, 28-7

Turnovers were perhaps the one thing separating Michigan’s defense from very good to great a year ago.

It was Isaac’s turn this week.

“It’s frustrating, but at the same time – at the receiver position, it’s so tough, because it’s either you make a play or you don’t”, Chesson said of the lack of explosive plays. Smith, though, looked sluggish against the Rebels, running for just 33 yards on 13 carries. Isaac’s touchdown put the Wolverines up 21-0 for the game. “We didn’t block it right – it wasn’t blocked the way we drew it up – we missed a block, and I thought it was going to be a tackle for loss”.

The Rebels go home with an extra $1 million for their trouble courtesy of a Michigan (2-1) bank account that could seemingly cover that from merchandise alone.

Multiple times Saturday, Rudock missed open receivers downfield; his longest completion was 12 yards. The loss dropped the Rebels to 0-3 in 2015.

Peters needs a couple of years to grow into his body, but Brown feels that Peters has a bright future ahead in Ann Arbor. Harbaugh told reporters, including Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News, that Rudock’s job was “to win games”, and he did accomplish that goal Saturday.

Asked if he has a list of people he’d like to meet and things he’d like to accomplish, Harbaugh flashed back into his uniform. After his turbulent journey, Isaac’s pleased to be able to contribute to the on-field product.

Michigan battered UNLV with a strong running game. “We’re taking good risks and getting pass break up and interceptions and we have to have that so the offense has that fear to throw the ball”.

The senior graduate transfer from Iowa has been pretty rough so far, with four interceptions against two touchdowns and averaging just 6.7 yards per attempt. If numbers are out of the question, how does the coach evaluate his quarterback?

UNLV comes into the Big House as big underdogs, but Jim Harbaugh said to the press this week that he will not be letting his team overlook the Rebels. The secondary had another outstanding game with the Channing Stribling and Jeremy Clark interceptions and Jourdan Lewis with four pass breakups as UNLV kept targeting Boyd.

Michigan hosts Brigham Young University September 26.

MINNESOTA 10, KENT STATE 7: In Minneapolis, Mitch Leidner and Minnesota survived another shaky showing by the offense, using a second quarter touchdown pass to K.J. Maye to eke out a victory. It was ruled a 5-yard reception touchdown but was overturned after review.
