Just in case you wanted to feel a little old or perhaps nostalgic, Disney is releasing one of its hit animated features Aladdin on Blu-ray this Tuesday.

The much loved film changed the landscape of motion picture animations forever-even winning an Oscar for “A Whole New World”-when it was released in 1992″.

In the unreleased outtakes, we see Williams joking, riffing, trying different voices and doing celebrity impressions as he crafts the Genie into the character that came alive on screen. The actor committed suicide in August of 2014.

Also during the October 9 episode of ABC’s Good Morning America, The voice cast and creators of Aladdin were interviewed.

“We wrote the part with Robin in mind, but we didn’t know if he would do it”, explained Aladdin co-writer John Musker. When George Stephanopoulos asked if Williams could really sing, composer Alan Menken said that while “most of it ended up on the cutting room floor”, he “learned to”. A few of that video has arrived today in anticipation of Aladdin making its Blu-ray debut. “If he said no, we were going to be in big trouble because the whole concept was built around Robin”, Musker said on GMA. He would be going four hours straight.

“He was the Genie, he was bigger than life,”Musker said”.

Robin was so focused in transforming into the genie, he would spend up to four hours a day in the recording studio perfecting his lines to deliver his masterclass.
