Unsung hero Madison Cable saves Notre Dame from upset
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski was not feeling well and missed Tuesday night’s Atlantic Coast Conference game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Monday’s game marked the 13 time the two teams have faced off. In the 12 times before, the Irish held an 11-1 record against the Blue Devils, but they were 2-1 against Duke at Cameron.
Duke was bounced from the Associated Press men’s college basketball poll for the first time in more than eight years.
But it wasn’t until after a loss to Miami last week that Duke was excommunicated from the rankings, which took them from 24th to outside the 25.
Notre Dame blew a 13-point lead and trailed by five with under 6 minutes to play before reeling off 13 consecutive points while holding Duke scoreless for 61/2 minutes. The league-leading Hoosiers struggled early on, missing eight straight shots and falling behind 10-2, but they were almost flawless in the final minutes of the half.
With 10 games remaining in the regular season, Georgia Tech hosts a primetime showdown with Duke.
The Blue Devils did just fine without their Hall of Fame leader.
When we started DBR there wasn’t much reason to pay attention to Duke football.
And the Blue Devils would certainly like to rack up the available wins before then, too.
Lindsay Allen had 10 points for the Fighting Irish, who average a Division I-best 42.6 percent shooting from 3-point range but were just 6 of 19 (31.5 percent).
Quick, how many Duke fans got the obligatory text or “friendly” phone call from their Duke-hating friends yesterday?
Duke will be just fine but a road win tonight at Georgia Tech goes a long towards giving what Coach K has pared to a 6-man, iron six some confidence.
It’s the first time since the next-to-last poll of December 1986 back when the polls only included 20 teams that both teams are unranked. He was checked at the university hospital and advised to skip the trip to Atlanta. The Blue Devils were led by guard Rebecca Greenwell who finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds. The Blue Devils extended their winning streak against Georgia Tech to nine, last losing to the Yellow Jackets in 2010….
