The family of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh has lodged an FIR against Mayawati and some BSP leaders for allegedly using foul language against them during their public protest.
The FIR was filed at Hazratganj Police Station under IPC Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, etc), 504 (insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture or act meant to insult modesty of a woman). Later, Singh also said that “Mayawati is a big leader, I can’t say such a thing about anyone”.
Asserting that it was possible that external elements had infiltrated the angry BSP protesters and directed the comments towards Dayashankar’s family, she added that his wife and daughter had been targeted to make them feel the impact of obscene comments. Dayashankar Singh removed from the party for 6 years.
Calling it part of sequence of attacks on Shudras particularly Dalit women, the meeting demanded action against Singh under SC/ST Act which advocates for the arrest of person having such a mentality. However, the BSP continued with its aggressive posturing and said it would hold protests on Monday demanding immediate arrest of Dayashankar Singh, who has since been expelled from the BJP. “Should she not sack her party members for abusing us?”
Earlier on Thursday, BSP MLA Usha Chaudhary on Thursday was caught on camera calling the suspended Uttar Pradesh BJP vice-president an “illegitimate child”. “The whole country will not forgive BJP… people will come on the streets”. Strangely, none of the BJP bigwigs who were present in the Rajya Sabha raised even a mild objection to her wild retort.
Mayawati herself bared her action plan in Delhi when she said on Thursday that the agitation by her supporters and followers was justified as they not “only treated me as a leader but as a Devi (Goddess)”. “I will definitely lodge an FIR against Mayawati and other party leaders and fight a legal battle”, Singh’s wife Swati told reporters.
Balia Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Jha said that their efforts to locate and nab Singh would continue.

“The derogatory language used by Dayashankar against our party chief shows the BJP’s true character”.
