Upcoming awards show could feature character reveal

The acclaimed fighting game is set to have more downloadable content (DLC) and some of it will be revealed during the big event, including the revelation of a brand new character. GameSpot presumes one of the silhouetted characters in the “Who’s Next” teaser above will be revealed, but no one can be sure. And While cartoonist Todd McFarlene is agreeable to have Spawn added to “Mortal Kombat X“, it is unlikely for Spawn to be added in the upcoming DLC.

The new “Mortal Kombat X” DLC will be called “Kombat Pack 2” and will contain new characters for players to try out, according to Yibada. Tanya, The Predator, Jason and Tremor brought a lot of different elements to the gameplay, including some tournament appearances by Tanya during both EVO and the ESL tournament that led up to EVO. Some say the new characters could be Reiko, Rain, Sindel, Baraka, Fujin, Skarlet, Smoke, Kintaro, and many more.

In September, developer NetherRealm had announced that there would be more Mortal Kombat X DLC characters released during the first half of 2016. One likely possibility is that Night Wolf will be added to the game as rumored, but otherwise, there’s no real way of knowing, and Ed Boon’s Kombat Pack 2 tease from a few months back offers little clues. That nearly seems anti-climatic. Of course, Ed Boon hasn’t revealed who the character might be but he did link to an article about Superman looking like a villain in the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice clip.

Mortal Kombat X”, which is dubbed as “the most brutal Mortal Kombat experience ever”, was released in April and playable on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

So if you are excited to meet the new “Mortal Kombat X” characters, mark your calendars as The Game Awards ceremony will start at 9pm EST on Thursday, Dec. 3, according to VG247. Ultimately, we have to take a “wait and see” approach when it comes to the next round of DLC characters in Mortal Kombat X, but at least the wait won’t be long – the big reveal will take place this coming Thursday, December 3rd during The Game Awards 2015.
